The Wind Rises

I mentioned The Wind Rises in this post a few weeks back. It’s a great film – slow, pretty, nicely told. Probably not for everyone, but I really enjoyed it. It’s essentially about a kid who loves aeroplanes, and later designed some of Japan’s most iconic fighters. This version tells a slightly different story, where Jiro’s blueprints get swapped for a picture of a plane he drew when he was 4. Which makes a better film? I’ll let you decide.
