I’ve often felt that Aragorn was a little bit too good at his job. Rugged, handsome, deadly, of royal descent, and able to track a band of orcs across hundreds of kilometres of plain and forest. He is so over qualified that the law of averages suggests there must be at least several mediocre rangers out there – or maybe just one incredibly inept one.
