I was pleased to see in the news last week that, during 2012 some 560,000 volunteers helped remove 10,000,000 lbs of trash (about 4.5 million kilos) from the world’s coastlines. That sounds pretty helpful!
There still seems to be some work to be done – given the quantity of plastic debris currently sloshing around. For the waterborne rubbish, I propose we amalgamate it into a new landmass – perhaps with some kind of sticky foam, or using trained dolphins – then use it as a penguin sanctuary / dinosaur theme park. Any other suggestions are welcome.
